SIP Trip: Day 2 - 6

DAY 2 - Sat, 3th July 2010
Today was the day we had our first city tour. A very hot day.. but luckily we did not have to pack in train or public buses. We had our own bus to go to 東方明珠 (Oriental Pearl Tower). After we went thru a very long queue(which seemed to take forever..) we finally made our way up to the top of the tower! Forgot the exact height, but it was pretty high!

P.S. Notice that it was a bit foggy. Apparently I was told, if u can see a clear sky in the afternoon or stars at night, that means u r lucky! Lol..

After being pampered with a very magnificent view of Shanghai, we were off to a short visit to 外灘 (The Bund through a tunnel (a very not worthy ride.. I am not sure how much it costed us, but definitely it is not something worth a try!). I know we had been there the night before, but.. it was part of the city tour. Hot day.. under the sun? Not a perfect match! So a bunch of us (who had been there the night before) ended up hiding ourself under the a shelter (to avoid the sun =P!)

After a torturing an hour under the bright sun, finally we headed to 豫園 (Yu Garden). 
Guess wat? On our queue to buy famous dumplings in Yu Garden, the sky started to darken and in no time, rain started pouring.. In the end, we had dumpling in the rain.. wet wet n wet & there was no way, we could explore the Garden in that kind of weather..

So, change of plan - we headed back to hotel to dry ourself then go shopping at 俆家匯 (Xujiahui). We had an awesome eggtart then walked around 4-5 shopping centres..

Since we walked sooo much and I had a very uncomfortable pair of sandals, both of my feet are covered with blisters. So I had trouble walking around. Fortunately, my very SIPers were very supportive. They helped me looking for good pair of shoes.. (Thanks MS, BHong & Shaun!)


Anyway.. We decided to have an awesome dinner at 新天地鼎泰豐 (Dingtaifung) in Xintiandi. Thanks for Stan's recommendation, we had (or I had) the second best xiao long bao in Shanghai! Pork xiao long bao, sharkfin xiao long bao till taro xiao long bao.. Yummyy...

DAY 3 - Sun, 4th July 2010
Itinerary for today was to visit People's Square 人民廣場. Got off at People's Square Station and explored its small-scale shopping mall (which was underground, next to the Station!). I bought a pair of sandals and I got ripped off again. Zzzz.. 90ish Yuan for a pair of sandals =(. To make me regret it even more, my new sandals actually gave me more blisters. Sigh~~

Next stop: 上海城市規劃展覽館 (Shanghai Urban Planning Museum)

We also got to read about the history of The Bund.. Shanghai was actually a fishermen-town!

Having had enough of the Museum, the group split up since some of us had to meet up with Jill, our "supervisor" to discuss Monday's work. MS, BHong and I decided to walk around for a while before heading back to hotel. We had random streetfood along HuaHai Rd, where apparently a few executive shopping malls or shops were located.. Randomly went into a restaurant to take away bubble tea and two other cold drinks..

Then.. went back to hotel for our meeting

At night, we had a karaoke session at Partyworld Xujiahui Flagship Store

The Girls were "forced" to sing ==;

Karaoke plus unlimited food (unfortunately almost everyone had a bad stomach the next day.. most likely bcoz of the food there)

DAY 4 - Mon, 5th July 2010
First day of workkk!! Nothing much happened throughout weekdays starting Day 4 since everyone pretty much worked from 9am to 5pm.

World Expo day!!! We went to World Expo after work with DDB crews.. For photos, I guess u can check out FB. Too lazy to upload one by one again..
